Basics of Photography - 1

The four basic aspects to consider while taking a shot are:

- Available light (i.e of the subject)
- Aperture
- ISO Speed/Sensitivity
- Shutter speed

These elements form the basis of how your picture is "exposed". Of course there are many other aspects and in an SLR, the other critical element is the "focus". But in general as we make decisions while taking pictures, it is these four variables that we have to deal with. The first one is a given...but the other three are what we control.
